By combining coaching, BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®) and mindfulness photography, I can offer my clients a unique and holistic approach to their psychological well-being, personal growth and transformation.  These modalities promote self-exploration, reflection and awareness and help my clients understand their thoughts, feelings and experiences.

01

Coaching

Coaching creates a supportive environment for self-reflection and can include mindfulness techniques. It is goal-oriented, empowering clients to identify and achieve meaningful objectives and take action towards them. Coaching can incorporate creative expression, aiding in self-discovery, boosting self-esteem, and fostering healing. Additionally, it explores somatic experiences and bodily sensations, integrating these modalities into the therapeutic process. Mindful photography can enhance the coaching process. It involves meeting life as it is and accepting situations to gain the mental capacity for progress. It facilitates gaining new perspectives and cultivating choices while BWRT® can eliminate triggers and limiting beliefs.

BWRT® - Brain Working Recursive Therapy

BWRT® is a science-based methodology that works with unwanted emotional or psychological triggers. When we understand and befriend our nervous system, we can become aware of the triggers and address unconscious resistances or limiting beliefs that can impede progress.

Coaching and mindfulness practice can be integrated into the therapeutic process. Engaging in creative activities can encourage self-discovery, boost self-esteem, and support healing.
The method recognizes the mind-body connection and how physical sensations can be linked to psychological issues. It
facilitates the dissolution of emotional and behavioural patterns at the subconscious level. BWRT® is fast, effective, affordable and can be done in the comfort of your own home (online).

Mindful Photography

Photography is therapeutic. Photography is a reflective and meditative medium where the camera can be seen as an extension of our eye. Mindful photography is a slow approach to mindfulness where seeing serves as an anchor, like the breath in meditation. It is ideal for those who find it difficult to sit still. It allows for non-judgemental exploration and encourages awareness and observation. The focus is on the process and enjoyment, not the end result. This practice strengthens resilience by exercising our nervous system like a muscle.

This course is open to everyone, regardless of their photographic skills. You only need a smartphone. It offers fun, creative expression for mental health, personal growth and community.

Catrin MacMahon

I am a trained Psychologist with further training in Systems theory, BWRT® and Nature Therapy. Understanding our unique nervous system and its intelligent function is the focus of my work. Psychological wounds are real and need support just as much as physical injuries. Change can be achieved in many ways.

My great passion is photography. Unconsciously, I have long used photography as my mindfulness & meditation practice as I often find it difficult to be still, especially in times of heightened tension. The Mindful Photography training of the Look Again© method has deepened and scientifically underpinned my intuitive approach.

Our society needs to change its attitude towards mental health and offer more support to those struggling. Chronic doubt and fear in our society hinder openness to new experiences. "Don't think you are on the right path just because it is a well-trodden path."

I bring my diverse knowledge, passion for therapeutic and mindful photography and a holistic perspective on mental health and well-being.
